The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us, and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak, the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Today marks a huge milestone for Weed as Sony BMG Music and RCA Records have just announced the release of the first major label title in Weed format.
« Sony BMG Music and RCA Records have stepped up and they are the first major label to distribute content in Weed format. They have earned a huge amount of respect from us in the process, » said John Leighton Beezer, President, Shared Media Licensing, owner of the Weed technology. « We all know that Weed is different ... in some ways very different. And to a lot of people different = difficult. Sony BMG and the people at RCA liked the idea and took the attitude that we needed to work together to solve the problems. It's taken almost a year to accomplish this and all parties ended up making some concessions. The end result is that we were able to put together the first major label deal for true superdistribution ... ever. »
The Weed Files Team is proud to bring you a Weed exclusive remix of Kelly Clarkson's « Since U Been Gone. » Enjoy!
The winner of Fox TV's first American Idol: The Search for a Superstar competition, during the summer of 2002 Kelly Clarkson went from an anonymous talent to a nationally known singer performing for an audience of millions of viewers. From a Grammy Nomination to an appearance on Saturday Night Live, the ride has been incredible and has only just begun.
Please note that this distribution is a test. As the first major label to distribute content in Weed format, Sony/RCA have asked for the following restrictions: first, the file only plays in the US. Second, the file offers unlimited 20 second sample previews instead of the Weed standard 3 free plays. This is just the first step in a process to bring in more content to Weed, and hopefully some or all of these restrictions will be removed in time.
