15:06 : New Music: Richard Scott
[ link | (0) ]
 Richard Scott is a true eccentric - one of those rare guitarists whose gifts defy the generic boundaries assigned to his art. Scott is a guitarist and luthier who cites a broad base of influences spanning from Primus bassist Les Claypool to flamenco guitarist Carlos Montoya. But Scott's musical vision is deeply rooted in blues, and even his most polished and studied compositions retain the unsettled and suspenseful qualities of roots music at its rawest. Suggested tracks Expresso [ Unknown ::: 3903 Kb ]
Fresh Mellons [ Blues ::: 14057 Kb ]
Jam Somewhere Around E Minor [ Unknown ::: 10002 Kb ]
14:56 : New Music: Phreeworld

 Learning from the greatest, pushing technique and technology to their limits, Phreeworld's music is an exciting, electrifying experience of 21st century rock. There is an illusion of simplicity, subtlety in design, beautiful vocal harmonies and an exhilaration that can only be produced by executing incredible technical skills, flawlessly. Their album "Crossing The Sound" is available for download, and here are a few tasters: Solar Spectra [ Rock ::: 5117 Kb ]
The Chariot [ Rock ::: 11627 Kb ]

12:15 : New Music: Feedback
[ link | (0) ]
 Before Matt Cameron played in Pearl Jam, he played in Soundgarden, and before Soundgarden, he played in Skin Yard, and before Skin Yard was a little known band called Feedback. Feedback was short lived and consisted of Matt on drums, Daniel on bass (with whom he would also later play in Skin Yard with) and a guitarist known only as Nerm. They were a unique band, all instrumental, with as much a tip of the hat to King Crimson as to Jah Wobble and Pell Mell. They rehearsed in Daniel's living room, and although there is little record of their existence, they did manage to record a set of twelve songs on four tracks in 1984. Twenty years later, with the gracious sweetening and mastering assistance from Jack Endino, these tracks can now be heard for the very first time. 12:45 : New Music: Camaro Hair
[ link | (0) ]
 Camaro Hair is a 4-piece with guitars and some piano with melodic, anthemic, and epic rock sounds. I thought that classic songs met their quota and then out of nowhere in Portland Oregon comes a band who can do it all. The rock, the ballads, the midtempo and the upbeat with timeless songs such as « At My Worst » which ironically is an uplifting song that's getting considerable national attention and beginning to get radio play. They just released their record « Far From Ok » which was 11 of the last songs recorded in their basement at the white house. These boys are far from ok... they're magnificent and have potential to be something bigger than the average rock band. » - NWRadio The whole album is available for download, and here are a few suggested listenings: At My Worst [ Pop ::: 4517 Kb ]
Walls I'm Facing [ Pop ::: 4422 Kb ]

12:17 : New Music: The Rebel Wheel
[ link | (0) ]
 The Rebel Wheel is a modern progressive-rock ensemble based out of Ottawa Ontario. With influences that range from Gentle Giant to Frank Zappa, the band features a frenetic mix of rock aggression, odd-meter vamps, and turn-on-a-dime arrangements. They have a floating membership based around the core line-up of bass and guitar, and their style can go from complex bop-oriented fusion to balls-to-the-wall guitar rock, to African, Indian and Celtic percussion madness.
The band's self-titled debut album is available for download, and here are some suggested tracks:
Moebius Strip [ Rock ::: 3403 Kb ]
1 oz [ Rock ::: 10595 Kb ]
ThunderHerd [ Rock ::: 3279 Kb ]
