Fostered by the spring sun, the Weed World keeps getting bigger and stronger with new sites sprouting and a steady flow of new music. Here's an overview of the recent developments.

CD-ME has 3 new tracks from The Mispelt.

The power thrash metal of Shadow Demon is available at the Weedstash.

weedgrrl.com features Rachael Sage's "Public Record," her fifth release on MPress Records.

9 more Weed files from The Seventh Triangle have been added to New Hat Records's download page.

ChristianWeed.com announces new tracks from Derek McCorkell and Louis Tata.

Weedtunes's catalog now includes new artists Jymini, Camaro Hair, David Nix, Simple Simon, Trana, and new tunes from Anabret and Andrea Priora. And you can now keep updated on the website's activity thanks to their brand new weblog.

The music of Chris Daniels & The Kings, Buckskin Stallion, Honky Tonk Hangovers, Dave Beegle, Oakhurst, and the Railbenders can be downloaded from the newly launched Big Bender Weed.

The Freedom Faction offers the hip hop of Cold Duck Complex, and new files from Danny Stewart, Kaion, Method In Madness, and Chieko Mori Project.

Music[file]workz proposes files from Yorkshire based quintet Chilli's debut album "Take Me To Graceland," and all 12 tracks from Kingbathmat's "Son of a Nun."

The Weed File Garden has weedified 3 albums by Django Haskins, 2 albums by Jon Roniger, and has a special Weed-only preview of the first five songs from The Fading Collection upcoming "STEMS - the Remix album."

The Chenille Sisters have come on board at The Teaching Seed.

DownloadWeed.com has 5 tracks from Huevos Rancheros, and 6 new Call It Arson tunes.

New sites

The weedsharing webring welcomes 3 new members:
  • TexasWeedMusic.com: music portal site specializing in promoting Texas independent artists while hosting a diverse catalog of international independent artist music.

Weed artist Larry Luppen has developed a Weed search engine. Also available on his website is a handy script that parses and displays the contents of a WMA ID tag.

The folks at SML now provide a data feed of all the Weed files, with the Song ID, Artist Name, Song Name and ICP URL. For now they will be publishing the entire list in one file, updated daily by 1:15 AM. Be aware that the feed format is subject to change.

A new version of Weed Exporter is now online and available for download, featuring an "Include Subfolders" option, a "Filter" function that lets you list only the files whose name matches a particular string, and "Power tokens," which have been added to provide a solution for the differences in the way in which various encoding software manage metadata.

New music

Ozmusicweed features Frankenbok, Roadrunner Records's first band to join the Weed revolution, and has their complete "Blood Oath" album available for download. Three Point Tilt's new album "Lesson's In Propaganda" has also been added to the site, courtesy of Sunken Cheek records.

Jack Endino's Weed Café offers the new, remixed, deluxe reissues of The Gits.

The WeedStash announces Gazpacho's latest release, "When Earth Lets Go", and the music of Amon-Ra, a native of Brooklyn who has been in hip hop for some time doing clubs and parties around New York City and developing a following.

Chicago's Rollover has published their "Hold On 'Til You Drop" CD in the Weed format, and the files can be downloaded from Bottom Rung Records. Rollover has toured the world with the likes of Joe Satriani, The Allman Brothers, Sheryl Crow, and many more.

A whole other set of Billy Atwell tracks have been posted to the artist's website, including the entire score for the film "The Secret of Redgate," which premiered at the International UFO Congress this last February. There are also a number of spoken word tracks that Billy did with "out there" poet Jose Torres Tama, and a couple of other treats.

"America" is Darcy Fray's latest offering to all of us in the Weed Community, and it's available on DownloadWeed.com.

CD-ME has InVerro's new album "Esoterica," Edj's 8th album "Dirty City Blues," DJ Ammon's "Guided by Animations," and KingBathmat's "Crowning Glory." 5 new tracks from UK based band MAWDA are also available.

The Teaching Seed has Ernest Super Cooper's songs about Gandhi, Marcus Garvey, MLK, and 9-11-01.

Houston jazz outfit Drop Trio can now be found in the Weed File Garden, along with new songs from DJ TAE and DJ Drunken Master.

Weedtunes announces 3 new songs from the lovely and talented Suzanne Brewer, 2 new pieces from Andrea Priora, and 22 tracks from OnOffOn.

weedgroove presents 4 new songs from rapper Mateo Mblem, and 2 complete albums from Derek Parrot.

The Weed Warehouse has Fifty-50's "Abused" album in stock, along with the single "I Wanna Be Free" by "Naomi And Friends" featuring 7 year old Naomi making her case to the world's leaders. At least 10% of the proceeds from the song will go to charities working to promote peaceful causes.

ChristianWeed.com introduces new artists Kelvin Chester and Donna Marie Cain, and also offers a new song from James Moore.

The Blues Weed is proud to present 3 songs from Tony Whetstone.

Mountain Con's first EP "The Highpoint Project" is now weedified and available on the band's website.

Hearts Gone Wild has just released "She Gives" and you can find the song on WeedDex.com.

Weed files from Pieces of East, Christine Martucci, Kelly's Lot, and Elizabeth White are available on weedgrrl.com.

Cooler Weed introduces prog metal band Odin's Court.

And The first fruits of Sananda Maitreya's latest project, "Angels & Vampires," are available on the artist's website.
